Hi, I counted Tom as one of my good sailing buddies. But I cannot picture Tom without Jan at his side. That is how I knew Tom, and that is how I remember them. They, as a team, were good sailors par excellence. I have many memories of them. How they would talk themselves through a problem, and arrive at a safe solution. While anchored in the Benjamins on a blustery day, and watching a lone sailboat work it's way towards the anchorage, and 30 minutes later, discovering it was Trojan, Tom and Jan on their MacGregor 26. His quiet thoughtful demeanour was one of his winning traits. Everyone I knew held Tom in high esteem. When asked, he would not hesitate to become a leader, respected by everyone. His opinions were always well formed and respected everyone's position. He will be on my mind during this summer's North Channel Cruise. Robert
