Our New Conner & Koch Funeral Home Blog

Our Blog

Welcome to Conner & Koch’s New Blog!

Thursday, June 15, 2017

Thank you for taking the time to check out our new blog. A quality blog requires commitment and effort, and this is a challenge we would like to take on again because it is a great way to connect with families from our community. Our new blog looks to provide families with relevant, informative, and interesting content. Our blog will consist of educational and entertaining articles to keep you up to date with news about our funeral home and trends within the industry.

Before we begin publishing these informative and educational articles, we think that it’s important to reintroduce who we are, what we do, and how we got here. With that being said, let’s get started.

What Does Conner & Koch Funeral Home Offer?

Conner & Koch Funeral Home provides families in Bellbrook, Ohio and surrounding cities such as Centerville, Kettering, Xenia, Hamilton, and Dayton with exceptional funeral services. We provide all types of service and serve all faiths. Our services include funerals, burial, cremation, and specialty services such as celebrations of life and veteran services.

Since we first opened our doors, we have been “a friend of the family” to everyone in our community. You might be wondering, what does that mean?

It means we’re not just another funeral home. We treat and serve every one of our clients like they are a member of our family. Each family that steps through our doors has lost someone special to them. While we can’t bring them back, our staff works hard to provide that family with a beautiful service that honors their loved one’s legacy. We respond to the wishes of each family to ensure that all of their needs for the funeral service are met. We are proud to embrace traditional values, diversity, and innovation in honoring the life and spirit of each individual we serve.

What truly makes us unique is the caring and compassionate individuals that make up our staff. After losing a loved one, you should be focused on grieving and comforting one another. Our dedicated staff works tirelessly to ensure that you have peace of mind knowing that we take care of the smallest details when arranging a service. Your loved one deserves a beautiful and dignified service. We ensure that they receive it and that your family is able to say a proper goodbye.

Meet Our Incredible Team!

Our funeral home staff is comprised of caring, knowledgeable, and experienced individuals. For three generations, our family has served families in the Bellbrook community. Over the years, we’ve seen everything imaginable and possess the knowledge to find a solution that works.

Our funeral home was purchased by Brian and Donna Koch in April 1999. Brian served as the managing funeral director for our firm between 1990 until he took ownership. He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Donna is a licensed funeral director and licensed social worker. Together they serve as president and vice president respectively.

Addison Koch is the daughter of Brian and Donna. After graduating from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2014, she joined our team as our Business Director. She is passionate about caring for families and is in the process of becoming a licensed funeral director herself.

Karen Bergeron serves as our Office Manager. She has been with Connor & Koch Funeral Home since 2007. She is a caring and kind hearted person responsible for overseeing the correct completion of family forms and certificates.

Joe Fankell and Bill Trubee have been with our team since 2008 and 2009. Together they serve as Funeral Associates. They are responsible for serving people and being active in all phases of funeral service and facilities maintenance.

Conner & Koch’s Heritage: How Did We Get Here?

Since 1968, Conner & Koch Funeral Home has served the families of Bellbrook, Centerville, Kettering, Xenia, Hamilton, and Dayton. Our funeral home was first founded by H. William Tobias and originally named Tobias Memorial Home.

Upon his retirement in 1986, Mr. Tobias sold the funeral home to Steve and Kathy Connors. The name of the funeral home was changed to Tobias-Conner Funeral Home. Together, Steve and Kathy ran the funeral home until 1999 when they sold it to their son Brian Koch and his wife Donna.

Community involvement has always been something that is important to our funeral home and staff. Brian has dedicated much of his life to community service. He formerly served at his church as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Promise Keepers Men's Fellowship Teacher. He currently serves as an interim Lead Pastor at Marshall Road Church of God. Together, Brian and Donna are members of the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Chamber of Commerce, Bellbrook Cemetery Board, National Funeral Directors Association, Ohio Funeral Directors Association and the Greater Montgomery County Funeral Directors Association.

Since our doors opened in 1968, our funeral home has always had a passion to create beautiful services to celebrate the life of your loved one. We honor their legacy by taking you and your family on a walk through their path in life.
