Mildred Katheryn Potterf (Anderson)
Mildred Katheryn (Anderson) Potterf, 91, of Bellbrook , formerly of Spring Valley, passed away Wednesday, December 7th, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born April 1st, 1925 in Washington Court House to Elizabeth Ann (Jones) and John Hartley Anderson.

Mildred attended Roosevelt High School in Dayton before participating during the WWII effort as a "Rosie the Riveter". She formerly worked at Greene Memorial Hospital in the nursery caring for premature babies, and also for Maria Joseph Nursing Home. Mildred retired from the U.S. Postal Service where she served as Postmaster in Spring Valley.

Mildred was honored to be named Spring Valley Citizen of the Year and also volunteered for the American Cancer Society. She was formerly a member of the Spring Valley United Methodist Church and more recently, a member of Sugarcreek Presbyterian Church in Kettering.

Mildred loved the holidays. She enjoyed baking cakes, pies and cookies and preparing candy for her kids and grandkids when they visit grandma's house. She was adamant that everyone went home with a stocking full of goodies. Mildred was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and especially liked Joey Votto and Brandon Phillips.

She is survived by one son, Thomas A. of Bellbrook, one daughter Sue Kallmeyer of West Carrollton, nine grandchildren, David, Karrie, Kyle, Mitchell III, Charles, Mark, Joe, Lucy and William, several great-grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

You are invited to wear Reds and Christmas attire to a visitation to celebrate her life on Wednesday, December 14th, 2016 from 4:00 pm -6:00 pm at CONNER & KOCH Life Celebration Home, 92 W. Franklin Street, Bellbrook (937-848-6651).
