Condolences

Condolence From: Jan Loyd
Condolence: John & I were shattered to hear of Craig's home going. No matter how much we may know that each of us only has the present moment, we are still shocked and heart-sick to lose a loved one. And that was certainly true of Craig. We affectionately remember Craig as a person who had built a big life and hugged that life wholeheartedly to himself. And Craig invited us into that life and the wonderful creative circle that Craig & Cindy built for themselves. So over the years, we enjoyed fellowship and fun with them.

In the past few years, however, I felt that I got to know Craig more deeply through his book and through his encouragement to me as a fellow author who was a few steps behind him. He met with me one evening at Panera to answer my questions and give me suggestions so that I can stay legal as I market my book. He was also the one to introduce me to the Booksellers at Austin Landing, where I've had a continuing relationship as a local author.

And so we grieve and we pray and we join with Cindy in her sadness...and also in her assurance that one day she will again see her beloved and our friend Craig.

With great affection and oneness in our Resurrected Jesus
John & Jan Loyd

Condolence From: Mary Scallon
Condolence: I met Craig for the first time May 26, 2016 in Marshalltown. Iowa for breakfast.I found out, through his book, we were second cousins. I e-mailed him and was delighted when he called me to tell me he would love to meet me when he came to Iowa. He was only 4 years older than me and was a genuine, kind & warm person. Craig was easy to talk with and I truly am grateful he reached out to me and took time to meet me. I am extremely happy to have met Craig and Cindy. I am truly sorry for your loss. God has a bigger plan for Craig. He will be missed.

Condolence From: Debra Hanby
Condolence: Craig was an man I was proud to call my friend. Words cannot express how I felt about Craig nor the void we have all experienced with losing Craig too early. But, God has a plan. We don't always understand it, don't always agree with his timing, but Craig knew God has a plan for all of his. His love for everything, especially Cindy, his newly discovered family, and his Personal Savior Jesus Christ, were the foundation for who Craig was. I will miss him dearly and will remember him forever. If you loved Craig, please know God loves each and every one of us. He would want everyone to learn this during their short time here.

Condolence From: Roger Mann
Condolence: Dear Cindy, Craig was a remarkable, caring and passionate friend and colleague. Craig welcomed fellow entrepreneurs, baseball enthusiasts and "doers" with open arms. We were truly blessed to have had him in our lives. From his wit and all of his constructive quips, to his fresh honesty and directness, he always sought to build lasting and productive relationships. I like Craig, started out as an Oriole fan, maybe one or two years before him... but the depth of loyalty to the birds far out paced mine, just as his consistent, meaningful giving to others did. My most heart-felt sympathies go to you Cindy and your family and all of Craig's many grieving friends. God bless you and may Craig always be in our thoughts and hearts, Roger

Condolence From: Tim McKenzie
Condolence: Craig was truly one of the best humans I've known. We enjoyed going through the Masters program at Antioch together, then stayed in touch through baseball and occasional get togethers, usually at his instigation over one of the many things he was passionate about. I'm going to miss him.

Condolence: I am shocked and saddened by Craig's passing. He was always full of energy and life during meetings and had the best insights and ideas. He asked probing questions and was bright and articulate. When he asked me to read his book regarding his adoption and finding his birth family, I was honored. It was an excellently done book and gave me further insight into the wonderful man that was Craig Steffen. You will be missed!
