Obituary for Karen Lee Miller

Karen Lee Miller
Miller, Karen Lee, 59, of Dayton, passed away Monday August 8, 2016 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born June 27, 1957 in Cleveland to Joanne Lee (Clover) and George Ellis Miller, Jr. Karen was a 1975 graduate of Bellbrook High School. She recently worked tirelessly on the Bellbrook Bicentenniel Committee and was very proud of her Bellbrook roots. Her dedication and loyalty in her work showed through in her long career at LAU where she worked from the early 80's and 90's. Most recently, she was employed at Spinnaker Coating in Troy. Karen loved animals, especially cats and birds. She loved to relax at Cumberland Lake, Kentucky, and enjoyed playing trivia, going on cruises, and reading. She was a member of Kettering Church. Karen also volunteered for Shoes for the Shoeless and SICSA. Karen was a devoted blood donor as well as an organ donor and someone will be given sight because of her giving nature. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. Karen is survived by her mom Joanne Fluharty of Waynesville, sister Sheila More (Jim) of St. Mary’s, Georgia, and a special friend Steve Penix of Dayton. Family and friends are invited to her life celebration visitation on Sunday August 14th from 2-4 pm at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook (937-848-6651). Life celebration services will follow at 4:00 pm. In memory of Karen, memorial contributions may be made to SICSA (www.sicsa.org) or Susan G. Komen (ww5.komen.org/donate).
