Donald B. Bushroe, 84, of Centerville, Ohio passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015 at his home. Don was born in Carleton, Michigan on April 4, 1931 to Ernest and Aurelia (Bergmoser) Bushroe. He married Joan F. Senderak on October 14, 1961 in Michigan City. Joan passed away in 2005 preceding him in death, along with his parents, and his sister Mary Ruth Wilson. He is survived by his two sons, David L. Bushroe (Sherri) of Bellbrook, Thomas B. Bushroe of Indianapolis, Indiana, and two granddaughters Kylie and Kaitlin Bushroe. Don served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and later worked for Joy Manufacturing and then Northern Indiana Public Service Company retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church serving in various volunteer positions including an active membership in the Knights of Columbus. Don was also a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church (Michigan City, Indiana), and the Loyal Order of Moose Fraternity 980 (Michigan City, Indiana). He was an avid reader of science fiction, westerns, and mystery novels, and enjoyed ice cream, vegetable gardening, and watching Michigan football. Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 9:00-10:30 am to celebrate Don’s life at St. Francis of Assisi, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville. A vigil will begin at 10:00 am during which St. Francis and the Knights of Columbus will hold a special memorial honoring Don. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am with Father Tom Schmidt officiating. A burial committal service will be held at 10 am on Friday, October 9, 2015 at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Michigan City, Indiana.
