Garry Dale Carter, age 63 , of Kettering, passed away Friday, February 3rd, 2017 at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties.
He was born March 2, 1953 in Kingsport, Tennessee to Juanita Ruth (Childress) and William Alfred Carter.
Garry is survived by his mother Ruth Carter of Bellbrook, daughter Amy Harper (SFC Jerry) of Ft. Eustis, Virginia son Matthew Carter (Lindsey) of South Lebanon, Amber Campton (Chaz) of Cincinnati, former wife of 30 years and lifetime friend Sandy Carter of Lebanon, seven grandchildren PV2 Nicholas Harper, Ashley Harper, Ethan, Emily and Tatum Carter, Elana and Lila Campton, sister Barb Emerick (Don) of Miamisburg, brother Merril Carter of Wilmington, and numerous nieces and nephews..
The family will receive friends on Tuesday February 7th from 5-7 pm at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook, where Garry's favorites peanuts, butter pecan ice cream and sweet tea will be served. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 8th, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Fairvew Primitive Baptist Church, Ferry Rd., Bellbrook with burial to follow at Fairview Primitive Baptist Cemetery. In memory of Garry, contributions may be made to Fairview Primitive Baptist Church.
Garry was formerly employed with Airborne Express/DHL as a Logistics Coordinator and most recently at Kohl's.
Garry was a current member of Fairview Primitive Baptist Church, Bellbrook, founder and former member of Macedonia Church, Wilmington, and member of Primitive Baptist Eastern District Association.
Garry was an ordained and faithful to his church and his God. He loved reading and watching anything about history. Garry enjoyed Western movies, NFL Football, shooting and playing golf. He had a fascination with geography as he enjoyed studying maps and atlases.
