It all started some 45 years ago. It may have been YMCA basketball or little league baseball with Jeff and Jerry, I don't know. It was apparent that Fred had his eyes on me and it wasn't because of me being a good athlete. We all grew up and went our own ways. Mine was becoming a military man and doing several tours overseas. I came home to settle down and re-connected with Jeff and Jerry, my lifelong best friends. I had numerous occasions to be in the presence of Fred, I was always honored, he was a living hero. You would think that after all of these years Fred would forget my bad habits as a youth, but he didn't. It never mattered if I was fishing with Jeff or Jerry or both. Fred would always call and ask; "You guys doing any good, is "Itchy Butt" with you"? Yes Dad, Jimmy's right here. Fred, I salute you, I thank you for my nick name and God Bless.
