Obituary for Major Thomas R. ""Tom"" Larimer, Ret.

Larimer, Thomas R. "Tom", Ret.
Age 75, of Bellbrook, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at home. Tom was born December 10, 1934 in Cincinnati to the late Gertrude Esther and the late Robert Braley Larimer. He retired in 1980 as Major after serving with honor in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years. Because he valued the privilege to vote, he enjoyed volunteering as a poll worker for the Greene County Board of Elections. Tom was passionate about sailing and was a member of Dayton Sail & Power Squadron, District 24, where he also taught celestial navigation boating classes. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joyce Oeh. Tom is survived by his loving wife Janet, two sons Thomas, Jr. & wife Penny of Elgin, Ilinois, Richard & wife Kathleen of Washington Township, one daughter Katherine & husband Philip Dudrick of Blair, Nebraska, 7 grandchildren Thomas R. III, Robert, Bonnie, Nicholas Conner, Luke and Julianne, Philip & wife Tammy Dudrick, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews in Califorinia, and other family members. The family will receive friends from 6-8, Friday, March 5 at Conner & Koch Funeral Home, 92 West Franklin Street (S.R. 725), Bellbrook. Funeral services 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home. Interment in Bellbrook Cemetery. In memory of Tom, contributions may be made to the Dayton Sail & Power Squadron or the charity of your choice. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
