Pastor Roy E. Glass, Jr, 89, of Clayton, Ohio, went to see his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in the early morning hours of March 8, 2018. He was born at his home in Juniata, Altoona, Pa, on April 28, 1928, the son of the late Roy E and Susie M Brumbaugh Glass. He was also preceded in death by his only brother, Richard B. Glass.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 69 years, Arlene Sommer Glass. They met at Camp Grace near Front Royal, VA in 1944. They were married August 27, 1948 in Altoona, Pa. To that union were born 7 children all who remain to watch over his beautiful bride for him. They include, Rick Glass (Deb) of Winona Lake, IN, Ardith Bonham (Bruce) of Gainesville, FL, Joy Cornelius (Lee) of Tipp City, OH, Roy Glass, III (Carol), of Blacksburg, VA, Lori Zastrow (Greg) of Miamisburg, OH, Lisa Brady (Scott) of Myerstown, PA, and Jon Glass (Annette) of Englewood, OH.; 23 grandchildren; Mike Glass, Tim Glass, Heather Wade, Heidi Dolbee, Holly Hummitch, April Hollinger, Jessica Pycraft, Amanda Greene, Josh Bonham, Tracy Geaslen, Joel Cornelius, Ryan Cornelius, Roy Glass, IV, Adam Glass, Amy Pemberton, Philip Zastrow, Jason Zastrow, Sarah Daffler, Katie Huss, Allison Brady, Drew Brady, Audrey Booher, and Madi Glass. He is also survived by last count, over sixty great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Pastor Roy shepherded 6 congregations over the years, Glade Mennonite church near Accident MD, Juniata (PA) Grace Brethren Church, Minerva (OH) GBC, Fairlawn (VA) GBC, and Troy (OH) GBC. He also served as an Associate Pastor at the Huber Heights (OH) GBC and Northwest Chapel in Dublin, OH. His second love was Radio and he served as an on air announcer at many different stations over the years, retiring from WEEC in Springfield, OH in 2009.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Tuk-A-Way, 2262 Craig Creek Road, Blacksburg, VA 24060, or the Basore Road Grace Brethren Church, 5675 Basore Rd., Dayton 45415.

To help the family celebrate his life, you are invited to share during the Life Celebration visitation at Basore Road Grace Brethren Church, 5675 Basore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45415 Sunday March 11, 2018 from 3:00 to 6:00pm. Life Celebration Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 12th, 2018 at 10:30 am at Basore Road Grace Brethren Church 5675 Basore Rd Dayton, Ohio 45415. Burial will be at Brumbaugh Cemetery in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania on Tuesday March 13, 2018.
