Gaeke, Robert "Bob" William, age 88, of Bellbrook, passed away Monday, November 13th, 2017 in DAYTON. He was born April 25th, 1929 to Harry Gaeke and Helen Gaeke (Lensch). He had a Master's in Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology in Dayton, Ohio. He was employed as a Controller for D.E.S.C.
Bob was a lifetime member of the Church of Ascension where he was one of the first members to join. He was in the D.E.S.C. 25-year club, a U.D. Alumni, a lifetime member of Phillips Aquatic Club in Dayton on Leo Street and a member of the Czech Club and the Polish Club which are both located on Valley Street. Bob was an avid swimmer and loved to go on cruises and take vacations to Daytona Beach in Florida with his wife, Mary. He loved to play cards (500, Euchre, Hand & Foot, etc.) and dance to Polka music. He also attended many horse races.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Harry, two sisters Mary and Dorothy, first wife Dorothy Fisher, and second wife Marilyn Fackler. Robert "Bob" is survived by one daughter Lois Swank (Michael) of South Salem, Ohio: two grandchildren Christina Korhely (Bob) and Alexander Swank; four great-grandchildren Donovan, Hunter, Peyton and McKinley; one sister Charlene Wolff of Xenia and one brother Charles (Nellie) Ellis of the Philippines.
To help the family celebrate his life, you are invited to share during the visitation on Sunday, November 19th, 2017 at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home from 4-7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 20th, 2017 at 10:30 am at Church of the Ascension 2025, Woodman Drive Dayton, OH 45420-2902, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, OH.
