Obituary for Nancy L. Roberts (Devers)

Roberts, Nancy L. (Devers), of Dayton, formerly of Trotwood, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Pristine of Washington Township. She was born on Feb. 20, 1933 in Trotwood to Irene J. (Haupt) and Don Devers. Nancy was a graduate of Trotwood Madison High School where she was a percussionist in the minstrel band and played high school basketball. Nancy worked for 28 years as a para professional for the Dayton Public Schools Reading Program where she was a respected colleague and was very devoted to her students. She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church, Brookville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul "Robbie" (2010), sister Sally Boyd and brother-in-laws Robert Boyd and Richard Hertlein. Nancy is survived by her daughter Kathy Dunlap (George) of Miami Twp., son Don Roberts (Dawn) of Springboro, four grandchildren Kaitlynn (Brandon), Hannah, Rhys, and Livi, two great-grandchildren Sierra and Bentley, two sisters Jeanie Hertlein of Florida and Diane Sprague (Joe) of Columbus. She is also survived by her two sisters-in-law Jean (Donald) GoodKnight and Ruthie Peffer. The family invites you to a visitation to celebrate her life on Friday February 3rd from 4-6 pm at CONNER & KOCH Life Celebration Home, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook. Life celebration services will follow at 6:00 pm with Bishop C. Joseph Sprague officiating. In memory of Nancy, the family requests donations to the Pink Ribbon Girls (to fight breast cancer), 15 S. 2nd St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371 or Hospice of Miami Valley, 46 N. Detroit St., Suite B., Xenia, Ohio 45385. Nancy loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed canning and playing bridge and scrabble.
